A Murder of an Angel (Confessions #4) by James Patterson

The Murder Of An Angel (Confessions #4) by James Patterson

Release Date: 10/26/15
Page Count: 304 pages (Kobo App. Edition)
Genre: mystery, young adult, contemporary
Dates Read:  11/26/16-11/27/16
My Rating:
Book: 4/5 🌟
Audio: 3.5/5 🌟

Finally, an end to a great series. It took me a while to get this one because I had too be in the mood for it, but at the same time, I think part of me wasn't ready for it to end.

As usual, I love Tandy and her brothers. I came close to not liking her uncle (won't say which, as I know there are some who haven't read it).

There are some things I'd like to know of course, but it did end in a way that I can be satisfied knowing everything will be just fine. :)

She wasn't horrible, but some parts she read it a bit too anxiously for me. Maybe I just wasn't used to it. And many of her male voices sounded a lot a like. She did read the French quite well I can say. A lot better than what I would have! Other than how some parts were read, she did well and helped me get through the book. I bought the book on Kobo app because I had a discount and it was a good price. I'm not one who reads on my tablet often. And, well, I've just enjoyed listening more than reading lately. 😊

A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (interactive on kindle)

Release Date: 9/6/16 (Kindle Edition)
Page Count: 32
Genre:  children's, holiday
Dates Read:  11/23/16

My Rating:
Book: 5/5 🌟
Audio: 5/5 🌟

There was an advertisement on my kindle for this story, but for interactive.

So, I had to get it!

I smiled so much with this story. I felt like a big kid interacting with it and kept thinking: I can't wait for my mom to see this! (Yes we're both big kids in some areas).

Hopefully my 6 year old nephew will like it but, either way, my sister is about to have a little one and my nephew just had a baby, by the time Thanksgiving comes around next year, both will be just old enough to at least appreciate the pictures..then later, the story and interactions.

Book Haul: Thriftbooks (pt 2~2 books)

I forgot to add these when I got the other part of the haul from Thriftbooks.

No explanation needed of the book I don't think. 😊
Never read the H.P. series and thought I'd just buy the book and when I'm ready to start  listening to the audio, I'd have the book to follow along. It's hard for me to just listen to audio without having the book nearby just in case I lose focus and/or didn't understand something, or want the spelling of a word/name. 😊

Clockwork Prince (The Infernal Devices #2) by Cassandra Clare

Page Count: 498
(counting the pages I've read, not actual pages in book)
fantasy/Young Adult/Paranormal/Sci-Fi/Romance/Steam punk
Dates Read: 11/3/16-11/9/16

My Rating:
Book: 4.5/5 🌟
Audio: 4/5 🌟

My Thoughts:
I can really see why this series is the favorite for many between T.M.I. and T.I.F.

It is beautifully written. Characters amazing, although sometimes make you want to shake them! Things get said that make you wince. While others make your mouth hang open and smile.

I am going only by the first two books now. I will know for sure how I feel once I read the third and finish book 6 of T.M.I.

I love the different points of view in the book. Makes it more interesting to see how everyone actually thinks and feels.

So far, Clockwork Prince is my favorite of the trilogy. I hope Clockwork Princess is even better for me!

There is so much I could say, but I won't as I might give away so much of the story! But there are characters that amaze and surprise and old!

Vanilla Beaned (A Cupcake Bakery Mystery #8) by Jenn McKinlay

Release Date: 4/5/16
Page Count: 294
Genre: cozy mystery
Dates Read: 10/29/16-11/10/16
My Rating
Book: 4.5/5 🌟
*recipes included in book*

*Caught up on the series. Just waiting for book #9 (due out April 2017)*

(Took me a while to finish because when I'm stressed and/or with anxiety, I can't focus much on reading)

There isn't a whole lot that I can say without giving away the whole story, so, I won't say much except it was really good! I laughed so hard on so many parts! The interaction between the friends, are always amazing and funny.

And there was even a little bit of growth within the book.

I can say that, of the others I read, I think this will make my list of one of my favorites of the series.

It wasn't who I thought it was, and I went back and forth with some but had my doubts with them. Kind of suspected one here and there but didn't see the purpose, so it didn't stick.

With all of that said, I will hush now, before I really ruin it and give spoilers. :-)

Yes, I had to take it there! 😂😂

Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices #1) by Cassandra Clare

Release Date: 9/1/15
Page Count: 479
Genre: Fantasy/Young Adult/Paranormal/Steampunk/Science Fiction/Romance
Dates Read:  10/24-11/2
My Rating:
Book: 4/5 🌟
Audio: 4/5 🌟

My Thoughts:
I didn't go into this book with my hopes too high because I knew the chances of me possibly not liking it. Although, they were still a bit high and I did hope, I'd enjoy it. I did.

As I get used to Clare's writing, I know to go into it not expecting it to totally wow me but that it would be entertaining and interesting, with a hell of a lot of angst and guys being butt-holes. And I got all of that. I noticed similarity with some characters here and The Mortal Instruments and I hoped it wouldn't continue with characters being exactly the same. She did change some of them up a bit as the book went on and I am glad about that. Although, there was that one, throughout the book, they did remind me of a certain character that got on my last nerve in the beginning. Another hope that changes as well. Overall, I did like a large number of the characters. Tessa? Well, I like her, she just tends to ask too many daggone questions! Lol...But I guess you need to learn, so you have to ask questions! Maybe because I am one I learned to not ask a whole lot of questions, I tend to get frustrated with people who ask a crap load of questions whenever you talk to them! lol

The book was a bit slow paced, but I think part of me expected that because much of her books are; but also, with this being the first book in the trilogy, I guess you have to get to know the world and people. Hopefully she will pick it up with the next two. I'm sure there will be a lot more angst and frustration, as she always does, but so far, I am enjoying this book a bit more than I am T.M.I.

There isn't a whole lot I can say about this book. I went between giving it a 4/5 to giving it a 4.5/5 stars. I stuck with 4/5 because of how similar some of the characters and story were to the other books and how some things tended to wrap up a bit too neatly.

After a bit of a break (reading a book or two), hopefully I will be going on to The Clockwork Prince before the year is out. :-)
