My Thoughts:

Audio:
Although she is bearable, she isn't my favorite when it comes to narrating a book. I really have to pay attention to who she is doing and make sure I listen when she is doing new 'voices', so that I can know who is saying what.  Again, she isn't horrible, just not my favorite. I don't have a favorite person that I know by name but I know some do better than others for me personally.

Book:
It started out as my favorite, then ended up seeming to be too drawn out. Some scenes could have been left out. We already know how some felt about certain situations, why keep repeating it and/or have more than one long dialogue about it (i.e.-angst being one & repeating one thing that you may have said a few pages or even a chapter or two earlier)? Even if it wasn't word for word repeating, it just gives you the feeling of "We've already been through this, move on" kind of feeling.

I do like the books, if I didn't, I wouldn't have kept going in the series. I just felt many spots, could have been left out and those parts seemed to just have been fillers; something to just have there for the sake of having something to say. I understand many may need that kind of detail, I'm not. Give me enough for me to know what's going on, move on.

What I did love about this one, is the suspense she did throughout the book. She'd get you all excited about what's going on in that one area with the people she's talking about, then, she will go to another scene, and then, of course, go back to what she was talking about before!

I did find myself getting bored with much of the Clary parts though. I don't know what it was, I just wasn't feeling it. As the book went on though, I found myself getting bored with other areas as well. Maybe that's the "I feel it is being drawn out" thing I kept feeling throughout this book (As well as the others).

I am continuing on with this series because I want to get to The Infernal Devices trilogy. I didn't realize though, that they could have been read in publishing order, and that I could have read Clockwork Angel & Clockwork Prince already! So, those will be next when I feel I am reading to move on in the series. Right now, I need a break. Just so that I can miss it for a while. It took me a while to read through it because of how slow paced it was for me, even with the audio. Thanks to the audio though, I was able to get through it faster than what I would have without it.

But please, do not let my thoughts about this book keep you from reading this. Dive into the series and see what you may think about it. You may love it! It may have you fan-girling/fan-boying (yeah, that doesn't make sense does it? lol). Just because I found it too drawn out, you may think that it doesn't last long enough! Give it a try and maybe come back to let me know what you think! :)
